PRODUCT DEVELPOMENT MANAGER

Reporting to the VP of Marketing and Product Development, this position will develop and execute strategic new business initiatives. Leveraging capabilities and reputation as a leading innovator in composite metals, this position will be responsible for the successful commercialization of assigned new products.
The successful candidate is expected to have a broad technical background, enabling him to identify innovative new product solutions for a variety of high tech end markets. This includes actively participating in both internal process developments within manufacturing, as well as problem solving seminars with potential customers.
This position is responsible for the effective communication and coordination between process engineering, quality and manufacturing personnel regarding the successful launch of new programs.
Working closely with the field Sales organization, this position will technically support selective market initiatives in the field through extensive customer meetings and communications. Responsibilities on assigned product launches will include coordination of pricing/profitability and competitive analysis along with technology assessments. Reflecting the international aspects of the company's business, responsibilities of this position will include the support and coordination of global programs. Both domestic and international travel will be required.
Experience in metals or related industry, preferably involving strip or clad metal engineering or metal parts/component design and manufacturing preferred

METALLURGIST FAILURE ANALYSIS

The ideal candidate will join an existing Failure Analysis staff of metallurgists, mechanical engineers, and technicians dedicated to uncovering definitive root causes and helping implement solutions to our clientメs issues.

The individual hired will organize, direct, and control activities to achieve the overall expectations of the company's strategic and business plans as well as those of our clients. The successful candidate will have knowledge of metallurgy, materials science, engineering mechanics, and chemistry and will work to provide client satisfaction via the production of legally defensible data in a timely manner. Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must, including computer literacy. Aerospace experience, particularly with hot engine components, is a plus, as well is experience with non-ferrous alloys, such as titanium, nickel, and cobalt alloys.

INVESTMENT CASTING PROCESS DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

The Investment Casting Process Development Engineer is responsible for the development of those processes necessary to successfully investment cast non ferrous alloys. The holder of this position will be leading technology efforts in a multiyear development program targeted at improving current casting capabilities, producing prototypes, and identifying process and capital facility needs necessary to support a successful investment casting business. The holder will likely need to interface with customers, potential business partners, and US Government organizations.

In addition to the technical developmental responsibilities, the holder will also be responsible for safety, production, quality, and spending control of projects as assigned. The holder will likely need to interface with customers, potential business partners, and US Government organizations.


MELT ENGINEER (EAF)

Responsible for process and engineering continuous improvement projects within the Melting Department as well as troubleshooting day to day problems and activities.
Reduces costs and ensures Melting meets established budget, which includes monitoring efficiency and the proper use of resources.
Inspects and schedules repairs of equipment.
Trains and monitors Melting Operators.

PROCESS ENGINEER

Establish and improve metallurgical processes for equiaxed airfoils and other equiaxed product.
Improve runner system and gate size to optimize casting yield including establishing standards for future work
Determine optimum process variables for each major alloy including metal and mold temperatures at cast along with ceramic fiber wrapping of the shell.
Support production by quickly trouble shooting and correcting problems. Scrap and or rework reduction by improving stability of part process.
Understand the cause of and correct process failures found at NDT including any need to blend or repair.
Responsible for process development and yield improvement.
Work within teams to reduce overall cost of product throughout entire casting process.

RESEARCH METALLURGIST

Candidates must be prepared to work in a team-based environment in a state-of-the-art R&D facility for a steel company
Candidates must possess an advanced degree with a steelmaking (EAF, BOF, Continuous Casting or Ladle Metallurgy) background.

WELDING/COATING ENGINEER

Provide on a consulting type basis, technical welding or coating support for worldwide field operations.
Perform multiple welding and coating processes to steam turbines, industrial gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, or similar equipment
Communicate to skilled craftsmen repair requirements and explain technically to other professionals the metallurgy of the repairs.
Develop new or non-standard solutions for damaged client equipment.
Prepare & make presentations to any internal /external client level.

MANAGER OF PROCESS ENGINEERING

This individual will lead the Process Engineering Group. Provide technical support to secondary melting manufacturing operations.
This individual will be responsible for daily technical issues, understanding of secondary melting equipment and operations, defining and maintaining internal procedures, developing improved procedures and techniques and maintaining process control.

PROCESS ENGINEER

Thorough understanding of physical metallurgy as it applies to thermo mechanical processing and properties of metals.
The functional responsibilities of the position include administering to daily technical issues, understanding the product end use and material constraints, defining internal requirements necessary to produce the product and addressing customer technical concerns.

APPLICATION ENGINEER

Interface US customers on the performance of aluminum aerospace products.
Search new applications with current customers for aluminum aerospace products.
Develop and maintain new relationships with OEMs or Tier I suppliers with the goal of developing applications.
Develop relationships with the technical departments at key customers or Tier 1 suppliers as well as appropriate other third parties such as universalities and technology companies.
Translate customer needs into meaningful R&D goals in the development new products or the improvement of existing products. Work closely with Advanced Engineering Staff in achieving these goals.
Work in Cross Functional Teams to develop new products or improve existing products.
Support R&D or Product Engineering Staff in special assignments.
Support the Sales and Marketing group where necessary.
Attend Conferences, Association meetings, or Trade Shows as a technical representative.
Write Technical Reports.
Make presentations to both internal and external audiences.

SENIOR METALLURGICAL/CORROSION ENGINEER

Provides metallurgical expertise and technical support to product design, sales, supply chain, field service, and service centers. The qualified individual will help develop new products, resolve manufacturing and field issues, conduct material testing in a lab environment, manage material testing related programs with a focus on nickel base alloy and participate in quality improvement and cost reduction efforts.

METALLURGIST

Implements sound metallurgical practices in an aluminum casting, extrusion and heat treat facility. Evaluates product, investigates quality concerns, performs root cause analysis and implements continuous improvement activities. Respond to customer questions and concerns regarding product quality and characteristics.

MATERIALS ENGINEER (PETROCHEMICAL)

The Materials Engineer provides metallurgy and corrosion control consulting and troubleshooting services to manufacturing sites and project teams. The Materials Engineer must keep abreast of new technology in materials and corrosion engineering, welding, metallurgy and fitness- for- service.
