Process Metallurgist

Primary Objective:

Provide technical support related to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of products that safely and cost effectively meet requirements for quality and delivery, with a focus on melt shop operations.

Responsibilities:

Compliance with Quality and Safety systems and procedures

Review and disposition heats produced in the air melt shop.

Improve melt shop practices with regards to product/process improvement.

Internal interface to Management and functional groups across Universal Stainless plant locations

Perform statistical analysis and correlate process and product data

Support non-conformance disposition, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation

Lead and support continuous improvement efforts

Review customer claims and issue technical reports

Provide support during customer and regulatory audits

No supervisory responsibilities
